CHILD SUPPORT
The Clerk's Child Support is located in the Clark County Government Building, 501 E. Court Avenue, Room 137, Jeffersonville, IN 47130. If you have questions regarding child support, you may call the Clerk's Office at (812) 207-2231. The office is open for business Monday through Friday 8:30AM - 4:30PM, but may be closed for select federal holidays.

MARRIAGE LICENSE INFORMATION
New Marriage License Applications
To be married in the State of Indiana a couple must have a marriage license. The applicants who wish to be married must apply in person in the Clerk's Office and bring with them the required documents. For Indiana residents, at least one applicant must reside in Clark County and provide documentation of residency. Out-of-state residents may apply for a license in Clark County only if the marriage ceremony is being performed in Clark County.
If you wish to be married by the Clerk at the courthouse, an appointment must be made in advance. Please call the Clerk's office for an appointment.
Fees:
- Clark County Residents $25 + $4 document fee = $29
- Out of State Residents $65 + $4 document fee = $69
If you are applying for a marriage license in Clark County, you may start the application process online. Click here to familiarize yourself with the process. While you will still have to appear at the Clerk's Office to complete the process and receive your license (as required by Indiana law), starting your application online will save you time at the Clerk's Office.
After you complete the online portion, both individuals will need to appear at the Clerk's Office to complete the process. You can complete your application Monday - Friday from 8:30am - 4:00pm. The Courthouse is closed on Saturday, Sunday and legal holidays. Please allow 30 minutes to complete the process.
Applicants will need at least one (1) of the following:
- Certified Copy of Birth Certificate
- Certified Court Decree Establishing Date of Birth
- Valid Driver's License or Other State-Issued ID Establishing Date of Birth
- Any Other Official Documentation That the Clerk Deems Sufficient

Court Costs / FILING FEES
* Civil and Small Claims Actions: The filing fees reflect the amount for one named Defendant. A $10.00 service fee shall be collected for EACH additional Defendant that is named or added. A $10.00 garnishee service fee shall be collected for each Garnishee Defendant that is named or added in EXCESS of THREE (3).
* Service by Sheriff: A $13.00 service of process fee shall be collected ONE TIME per case.
* Service by Certified or Registered Mail: Filing fees include the cost of serving EACH PARTY at only ONE ADDRESS via Certified or Registered Mail. Service of filings after the initial filing must also be paid by the person requesting service. A payment to the Clark County Clerk should accompany the filings in the amount of $4.00 per envelope, or the person may provide the Clerk with pre-paid certified postage materials.
Mortgage Foreclosure Fee: Indiana Senate Bill 415, which became effective on May 7, 2015, amended Ind. Code 33-37-5-33 and reinstated the fifty dollar ($50) mortgage foreclosure counseling and education fee. This fee will be collected from a party filing an action to foreclose a mortgage.
